- Manual Mode: Weighing and timing manually.
- Pour-Over Mode: Once the mode is activated, the timer will start automatically when water flow is detected; when brewing is complete, press “MODE/TIME” to lock the data on the screen. Replace the container to restart the mode.
- Espresso A Mode: Automatically deduct weights once the container is placed. The timer initiates as it senses espresso, and it stops automatically when the extraction is complete, with the data locked on the screen. Reposition the container to restart the mode and debug any misreading.

Mode Introduction
Pour-Over Mode
When the raindrop icon appears, long-press ‘UNIT/TARE’ to tare and activate pour-over mode. Once activated, the timer will automatically start when water flow is detected. When brewing is complete, press ‘MODE/TIME’ to stop the timer and lock the data on the screen. Replace the container to restart the mode.
Espresso A Mode
In this mode, the scale automatically tares when the container is placed. The timer starts upon detecting espresso flow and stops when extraction is complete, locking the data on the screen. Reposition the container to restart the mode or correct any misreadings, all without pressing any buttons.
Espresso B Mode
This mode is specifically designed for pre-infusion or full-extraction recording. It begins automatically upon placing the container, simultaneously starting the timer and deducting the weight. Once the extraction is complete, the timer stops automatically, locking the data on the screen. To restart the mode or correct any misreadings, simply reposition the container.

FAQs
Is it water-resistant or resistant to steam?
In our internal tests, we poured 1 liter of water directly above the Katze scale and exposed it to steam from an espresso machine for 3 minutes, and it still functioned normally.
Maximum Weight Limit?
When using the Katze scale, the maximum measurable weight limit is 2 kilograms. However, when the scale is turned off (with the screen retracted), it can withstand up to 12 kilograms on the surface, ensuring the scale won’t be easily damaged and making it convenient to carry for use on the go.
Why does the weight fluctuate by around 0.1 grams?
Our scale is highly sensitive, so any vibration or movement of the table, wind, or expansion and contraction of the weighing pan due to temperature changes can cause fluctuations of around 0.1 grams. This is a normal phenomenon, and the scale will function properly as long as these factors are avoided.
How to Perform Weight Calibration
Like other coffee scales, the Katze scale is a high-precision instrument. Over time, factors such as temperature, impact, and vibration may affect its accuracy. We recommend periodically calibrating the scale using weights to ensure optimal precision.
Follow these steps to calibrate the scale:
- Place the Katze scale on a flat, stable surface.
- Press the power button to pop out the control panel.
- Remove any objects from the weighing platform.
- Insert the charging cable into the Type-C port.
- Press and hold the UNIT/TARE key for 5 seconds.
- When “CAL” appears on the control panel, the scale enters calibration mode. Wait for the flashing prompt until “500” is displayed.
- Place a 500g calibration weight (or an object of equivalent weight) in the center of the weighing platform.
- Wait for the weight calibration to process as the “500” flashes.
- When “END” appears, calibration is successfully completed. After 2 seconds, the scale will automatically return to weighing mode.
Can it be used while charging?
Yes, the Katze scale can be used while charging! Simply connect the charging cable to a power source, and you can continue using the scale without interruption.
Do the buttons provide audio feedback?
Yes! Each Katze coffee scale comes with the beep sound enabled by default when it leaves the factory.
If you want to turn it off, press and hold the MODE/TIME button for 5 seconds, then release it and immediately press and hold the UNIT/TARE button for another 5 seconds to disable the beep sound.
How do you charge it? How long does a single charge last?
Each Katze scale comes with a charging cable (Type-C) in the packaging, which you can use to charge your Katze scale. The average charging time is 1 to 2 hours, and after a full charge, internal tests show that it can be used continuously for up to 24 hours.
Warranty Information
The Katze scale comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of receipt. If the product becomes unusable during the warranty period, you can request warranty repair services through the official community or customer service on the purchasing platform.
